Duck Island Races 2024 start June 28th. Register at 6pm. Race at 6:30pmEvery Friday night during the summer SCKC hosts the Duck Island race. All human-powered paddle craft are welcome. FREE! Race your friends or work on a new PR! The race starts at the Green Lake Small Craft Center dock, goes around Duck Island, and returns to the dock. The race around Duck Island (ca 1.75km) starts at 6:30pm. Mass start at the dock. If there is energy and interest, we'll have 100m knock-off races after the Duck Island race. All are welcome! After the races we have a BBQ. Bring an item for the potluck. We provide hot dogs and veggie dogs. Sign in for the race by 6:15pm. Current Duck Island race record (based on last 6 years of results): 7:26.5 on Aug 10, 2018, by Greg Barton in a K1. The Duck Island course record (not during a Duck Island race) is 7:12 and was set by Ludovit Tatos in a VanDussen Eagle 1 (with Bracsa 1 221.5cm). The overall record is 7:00.3 set in a Plastex K4 by Vaughn Schenk, Jake Zikan, Einar Ogle, and Liam Jennings on Aug 3, 2019. |
